Terms of Service
The agreement that applies when passengers book Glyde rides or bus travel and employees use the Glyde Driver app for work.
Last updated: 27 August 2026
1. Accepting these terms
These terms form a binding agreement between you and SWIFT GLYDE LIMITED (“Glyde”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By creating a passenger account, booking transport or otherwise using our passenger services, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
SWIFT GLYDE LIMITED is a company registered in Nigeria. Our contact address is Suite 418, The Fusion Wuye, Plot 312 Olusegun Obasanjo Way, Wuye, FCT, Nigeria.
Drivers use the Driver app as part of their employment. A driver’s employment contract, staff handbook and lawful workplace policies also apply and govern the employment relationship. These consumer Terms do not reduce any employment right or replace those documents.
2. Who can use Glyde
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract. You agree to:
- give accurate registration details and keep them current;
- keep control of the phone number registered to your account; and
- not let anyone else use your account.
We verify your phone number by one-time code. Anyone able to receive codes on that number can access your account, so tell us immediately if you lose control of it.
3. What Glyde provides
Glyde provides ride-hailing and bus transport services to passengers. We operate the booking, ticketing and dispatch technology, set or approve fares, receive and administer payments, employ the drivers who perform Glyde journeys, own the cars and buses used for those journeys, and provide passenger support. When you book Glyde transport, the service is supplied by SWIFT GLYDE LIMITED—not by the individual driver and not by an independent third-party transport provider.
A booking is confirmed only when the app confirms it. Availability depends on operating hours, location, vehicle capacity, road conditions and other operational or safety constraints. We may decline, reschedule or cancel a request where it cannot be performed safely or lawfully.
4. If you are a passenger
Booking and fares
- The fare shown before you confirm is an estimate. The final fare may differ if the route changes, you add a stop, or the trip takes materially longer than predicted.
- The service category, including a private ride, shared ride or bus journey, and any material fare conditions are shown before you confirm.
- Fares may rise during periods of high demand. Any such increase is shown before you confirm.
- You may pay from your Glyde wallet, by card, in cash, through an authorised corporate billing arrangement, or by another method expressly offered for that booking in the app.
Cancellation
You can cancel at no charge shortly after booking. Once a driver has been assigned and has travelled towards you, or after the free window has passed, a cancellation fee may apply. The fee is shown in the app before you confirm the cancellation.
Cancellation charges must be reasonable and will not remove any right to a refund or other remedy that you have under applicable consumer-protection law. If Glyde cancels or does not provide a prepaid ride, we will refund the amount paid for the unprovided service, subject to the processing time of the payment provider.
Conduct
You agree not to:
- damage or soil the vehicle;
- bring anything illegal or hazardous into it;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against a driver; or
- ask a driver to break traffic law or exceed the vehicle’s seating capacity.
A cleaning or repair charge may be passed on to you if you leave a vehicle damaged or soiled.
5. If you are a driver
Your employment status
Glyde drivers are salaried employees of SWIFT GLYDE LIMITED. The Driver app is a work tool used to receive authorised assignments, navigate, record trip progress, communicate about a trip and complete other assigned duties. Drivers do not contract separately with passengers and must not present themselves as independent providers of a Glyde trip.
Working hours, shifts, rest periods, salary, benefits, leave, performance management, discipline and termination are governed by each driver’s employment contract, applicable staff policies and Nigerian law. Nothing in these Terms converts employment into an independent-contractor relationship or removes a statutory or contractual employment right.
Licence, assignments and company vehicles
Every vehicle used to perform a Glyde ride is owned by SWIFT GLYDE LIMITED and is assigned to a driver for work. Ownership does not transfer to the driver. Glyde is responsible for company vehicle registration, applicable vehicle insurance, scheduled maintenance and fleet-level roadworthiness controls. Drivers must:
- hold and maintain the class of driving licence required for assigned duties;
- complete required identity, background, training and fitness checks;
- inspect the assigned vehicle as required and promptly report damage, defects or warning indicators;
- use only the vehicle assigned by Glyde and only for authorised purposes;
- follow lawful dispatch, safety, traffic, incident-reporting and fleet instructions; and
- return company vehicles, keys, documents, devices and other property when directed or when employment ends.
A vehicle must not be driven if it is unsafe or if the driver is not properly licensed, fit or authorised. Glyde may remove a vehicle from service or remove a driver from driving duties while a safety, licensing or employment matter is reviewed, in accordance with applicable law and workplace procedure.
Salary and trip payments
Drivers receive salary and any approved employment benefits or incentives under their employment documents and payroll arrangements. Passenger fares belong to SWIFT GLYDE LIMITED. A fare, wallet figure, trip value, cash-remittance figure or performance statistic shown in the Driver app is an operational record and is not driver revenue, a service-fee split or a promise of additional pay unless the applicable employment or incentive document expressly says otherwise. Drivers must account for and remit cash fares in accordance with company procedure.
Conduct
You must not drive under the influence, use the phone unlawfully while driving, carry unauthorised passengers, ask for payment outside the app, or discriminate against any passenger. Drivers must protect passenger information, avoid unauthorised detours and immediately report collisions, safety events, vehicle damage, lost property and material complaints through the designated company process.
6. Glyde Bus and digital tickets
- A bus ticket is valid for the route, date, time window, passenger entitlement and other conditions shown when it is purchased.
- You must present the in-app ticket or QR code for validation when boarding and must not copy, alter, resell or fraudulently reuse it.
- Activated or validated tickets are normally non-transferable. Any travel pass or multi-trip product is linked to the purchasing account unless its displayed terms say otherwise.
- Boarding remains subject to safety, lawful capacity limits and the passenger following reasonable instructions from Glyde staff.
If Glyde cancels a prepaid bus service and does not provide a reasonable replacement, the affected passenger is entitled to the refund or other remedy required by law.
7. Wallet, promotions and refunds
- Wallet funds may be used only for Glyde services. They are not a deposit and earn no interest.
- Promotional codes are personal to you, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may carry conditions and expiry dates shown at the time of issue.
- We may withdraw a promotion or reverse a credit obtained through misuse or fraud.
- Where a refund is due it is normally returned to your wallet or to the original payment method.
Nothing in this section limits a passenger’s right to a refund, reversal or other remedy under applicable law. Wallet withdrawals, where offered, are subject to identity, fraud and payment-provider checks disclosed in the app.
8. Ratings and safety
Passengers and drivers may rate each other after a trip. Ratings are one safety and quality signal and may be reviewed with complaints, trip records and other evidence. A rating alone does not alter a driver’s employment rights or replace a fair workplace investigation where one is required.
The apps include an SOS feature that shares your location with emergency services and your nominated contacts. It is not a substitute for calling the emergency services directly. In an emergency, call them.
9. Suspension and termination
A passenger may stop using Glyde at any time and can request account deletion from Settings. We may restrict, suspend or terminate a passenger account if the passenger breaks these Terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or a safety risk, or where restriction is reasonably necessary to comply with law.
Access to the Driver app may be restricted when a driver is off duty, not assigned a vehicle, not properly licensed, suspended from driving duties, or no longer employed. Employment suspension, discipline and termination are separate workplace decisions governed by the driver’s employment documents, company procedure and applicable law; these Terms are not themselves a summary dismissal procedure.
Where practicable, we will explain an account restriction unless doing so would prejudice an investigation, compromise safety or breach the law. Passengers may challenge account decisions through support. Employees must use the applicable workplace grievance or appeal process for employment decisions.
10. Liability
Glyde will provide its transport and digital services with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for the transport service supplied by SWIFT GLYDE LIMITED and for the acts and omissions for which the company is legally responsible, including acts of employees carried out in the course of their work.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted app availability, immediate vehicle availability, an exact arrival time, or freedom from delays caused by traffic, road closures, weather, public emergencies, network failures or other events outside our reasonable control. We will still provide any refund or remedy required where a paid service is not supplied or is supplied defectively.
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to those non-excludable rights, any claim will be assessed under applicable law and on the facts of the incident. These Terms do not require a passenger to indemnify Glyde for Glyde’s own negligence or defective performance.
11. Our intellectual property
The Glyde apps, name, logo and content belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps for their intended purpose. You may not copy, decompile or resell any part of the service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service, our operating model or the law. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect where reasonably practicable. A change will not retrospectively remove an accrued consumer or employment right.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Please contact support@glyde.ng first so we can investigate and try to resolve the matter. This does not prevent a consumer from contacting the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission or another competent regulator, or from bringing a claim before a court with jurisdiction. Employees should use the applicable workplace grievance process for employment matters without losing any right available under law.
